So, I have a hardback and paperback copy of Acheron and a hardback copy of Styxx (kindle copies of both). There were several dates that were fixed in Acheron between the release of the hardback and paperback copies that I have. However, there were still several dating errors. I will use the paperback dates for the purpose of this post because they seem to be closer to the truth.
Acheron story starts with Ryssa's diary on the date of his birth Jun. 23 9548. Everything is in sync until the year Xerces finds them at the summer palace and has Acheron sent back to Atlantis. It appears that the year is switched with the next entry. It goes on fine for a short time. Then May 17 9529 through the next several entries range from that date to October 22 9527 before it switches back to the year 9529, the events are still in proper sequence though.
The first instance where Styxx's time line doesn't match up with Acheron's is on Nov. 15, 9532 in Acheron but it is 9533 in Styxx. The same exact event, two dates.
The next is June 23, 9530 by Acheron's book but June 21, 9532 by Styxx's book. The day that Acheron was returned to Atlantis.
After that, September 19, 9529 in Acheron's book but 9532 in Styxx's. The night that Estes died.
September 26, 9529 in Acheron, September 26, 9532 in Styxx, when they went to get Acheron from Atlantis when Estes died.
The next major one happens when the years are all skewed in Acheron. It says that August 23, 9529 was when the senators were arrested for defaming Styxx when they used Acheron. However, that exact same event takes place on January 18, 9529 in Styxx.
In Acheron October 22, 9527 Styxx falls ill from apparent starvation. October 22, 9529 the exact same event happens in Styxx.
November 20, 9529 in Acheron, Ryssa has him freed from confinement to the bed. However, the event that takes place in Acheron on Dec. 1, 9529 happens on Nov. 15 9529 in Styxx.
These next few could be skewed because of the timeline shift that is mentioned at the end of Styxx.
In Acheron it is October 29 2008 that Styxx asks Ash to let him leave Katoteros. In Styxx that happens on November 4th.
On October 31, 2008 Urian asks Ash for help to save Tory from Kalosis. This happens on November 20, 2008 in Styxx.
The last one that can be compared in Acheron is the fact that Styxx was present at Ash's wedding on February 19, 2009 however, we learned that he wasn't in New York anymore and no one knew where he was.
Again those last few aren't necessarily wrong since we don't know how much of the timeline is screwed up in relation to Ash and Styxx. I originally wanted to wait to write this until I reread Styxx again, but Charlie wanted to talk about it so here we are. Styxx is a first edition, I got it the day that it came out. I'm not sure on my copies of Acheron I bought them used. Have fun comparing these. Let me know if I missed any.
Sherrilyn Kenyon: Hunters and CON
This is a blog dedicated to discussing the Dark, Were and Dream- Hunter universe as well as Chronicles of Nick. If anyone wishes to discuss any of these things feel free to add your thoughts to what I have said. I look forward to anyone else's point of view and if I'm wrong on anything, please feel free to prove me wrong. I don't want to have the wrong idea on something. If you know better, let me know.

A Thought in Progress
So, I had originally planned to wait on some of these things until I reread the books again. However, after what Charlie said I feel compelled to make my own statements.
For what you said about Bathymaas, she can't be the balance for the Malachi. She was created to be the order to Set's (Rezar) Chaos. I think that it was just a statement that with all of the powers of balance coming to light that the Malachi/ Sephiri would also be coming into the open again as well. Giving them the chance that they need to seize him so that Noir can charge his powers again.
I also noticed that it had Styxx as a groomsman at the wedding. However, I compared that with Styxx's book, and found that at that time he was making his way to the Sahara. Not even Urian knew where he was at that time. Ash had no idea that he wasn't still at the New York apartment. I'm not sure if this is because she waited so long to write the two stories, or if it is going to play into the skewed time line.
There are so many things in the Ash and Styxx books that don't match up. Exact events that happen which include both of them will have one date in Acheron and a different one in Styxx. Sometimes years apart. It really gets to me and sometimes makes things hard to follow. I have sent an e-mail to SK about it on facebook but as of yet I have received no response.
There is really no way of knowing right now if there is more than one time shift, or if this is all one. Ambrose said that he went back several times to try to fix things. Maybe somethings stayed from the other attempts, kind of like separate rifts that don't pertain to the main situation. In Night Pleasures Nick was 16 when he went to work for Kyrian. In CON he is 14. I'm not sure how old he was when he died. Time shifts like this are really difficult to follow when you don't have all the pertinent details.
The beginning of Night Embrace and Kiss of the Night do happen at the same time. However, the speed of the books is different. Night Embrace only covers about 1 to 2 weeks, where as Kiss of the Night covers several months. That is why Talon is an immortal when he joins up with Wulf at the end of the book. Also, the beginning of Bad Moon Rising takes place around the same time as the beginning of Night Embrace and Kiss of the Night. It strays off the path of the others but we know that that is when it starts. The the middle of Bad Moon Rising takes place at the same time as Night Play.
If you pay enough attention you are able to follow the links in the individual books for the overall time line. It isn't until after Seize the Night that we start noticing any really time line problems. However, we know that they are there now that we have read CON.
Overall there are several factors of the story line that I haven't figured out yet... I hope to understand them eventually. And that others keep helping me to figure out what I'm not sure of yet.

Things that I have noticed so far... Spoilers.
So, I have figured out the current names for the six primordial gods. Rezar is actually Set. Cam is actually Ma'at. Verlyn is really Jaden. Braith is really Apollymi; Azura and Noir are still the same. There are several hints through out the series that lends credit to these findings. The only one that I'm not 100% sure on is Verlyn being Jaden.
Something that my husband pointed out to me, and I'm not sure what to make of it. If the Malachi gets stronger with every generation, then how is Jared still able to be the balance to him. Jared's powers never grow, he is the commander who turned on his brothers and is enslaved. So who is really more powerful and how is the balance not been thrown out of sync.
Also, there were hints at the time shift even before it was mentioned in Styxx. Madoc was mentioned at the end of Dream Warrior as being related to the Malachi, we learn in CON that Ambrose from the future wasn't supposed to have a brother. Also, Acheron follows that Tory was 10 when Theron died.

CON Illusion!! Spoilers!
So, the new CON book Illusion came out today. I started reading it at about 4:30 pm, and finished it at 11:30. I just couldn't put it down. The way she brought so many things together that had been up in the air. We finally got to learn more about Kody, though most of it I already suspected. But it was confirmed that she is the daughter of Bethany and Styxx. It mentions her brothers Ari and Urian on several occasions. As well as Ash being her uncle. It was nice to finally have confirmation of it all though.
Also, if you were paying very close attention. It tells you that Braith is Apollymi. Not only that, but the first Malachi was Apollymi's son. If you remember in Styxx; Archon mentions what happened with Apollymi's first child. So that means that in reality, Nick is Ash's nephew.
We don't get many more details about Calab, but I believe that Son of No One will answer many of those questions. I really can't wait to see where she is going to go with Xev.
The things we learned about Kody and the strides that we made with Nick are amazing, I just wish she had touched a little on the timeline shift. I know it is technically a "prequel" to the Dark- Hunter series, but it would still be good to know.
Very anxious for Defiant and can't wait to see where she takes our young friend. Can't wait to see the culmination of where she is going to take all of these different aspects.

Confusion
So, here I have sat over the last 2 weeks re-reading all of Kenyon's books, including anthologies, in order according to her site. I am so confused. I am currently on Acheron, The dating in that book is so strange in part one. Not because of how she had to date things because of the era but because her dating itself is inconsistent. She jumps from August of one year, then backwards to June of the same year. I don't know if it was a typo on her part, or how things happened.
It is so strange and I just can't wrap my mind around it. I don't know what is going on. Also, there are inconsistencies between Acheron and Styxx. Events that are exactly the same happen six months apart. This happens before the time shift that is mentioned, so I don't know if she just didn't realize the mistake between the times of writing the two different books. Some events match, but others don't.
The main one that I found was August 23, 9529 BC in Acheron; and January 18, 9529 BC in Styxx.
Then Oct. 23 9528 BC in Acheron, Ryssa talks about how she didn't tell anyone about him trying to kill himself, that Styxx passed out and they found him. However, we learn later that it wasn't really Styxx, it was a minion of Apollo. So, how did they know because of Styxx, the impostor woulndn't have felt anything when Ash tried to die.
Overall, the series is wonderful, however, I wish some of the things were explained a little more and that the dates matched better. I will keep reading these books because no matter how many times I have read the books I always find new things.
Like the fact that in Acheron it says that Tory's grandfather Theo was 7 when Ash brought him to America during WWII. However, in Dream- Hunter and The Dark Hunter Companion it states that Theo was 9 when Ash saved him in WWII.

Intro to Myself
So, I guess this could have been my first post but I didn't really think about it. I decided to start this blog because of my love for Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. I've noticed several things in her books that make me think too much. If I don't write it down I think my head may explode, and my husband is tired of listening to me talk about things that he knows nothing about. I am eager to talk to anyone about any of the Dark-Hunter books or CON. Even the Belador series, though there isn't much in them that I don't understand. Its still nice to talk about where we would like to see the story go.
I got my first Kenyon novel out of a $5 bin at Wal-Mart and have been hooked ever since. I never miss a release, and always have the new book the day it comes out. I am beginning to notice how she is bringing all the different stories together into one cohesive plot. While I am anxious for certain characters stories (Savitar) I understand why we have to have other stories first. Can't wait for Son of No One this fall and to see if the story will go where I think that it will.
I encourage anyone who reads this to share their thoughts as well, maybe we can get a good dialogue going and use each other to figure things out and if we are right or wrong in what we think.

Were-Hunter
There are several places in the Were-Hunter universe where they talk about the mating of the Katagaria and Arcadians. But what doesn't make sense is that depending what book or short your reading is how it can happen. As everyone know Were's are promiscuous, that is the only way for them to find the one that the Fates deem to be their soulmate. However, there are several things in Night Play that don't mesh with what is stated first by Vane in the beginning of the book and also what is said in the Dark Hunter Companion says that a were can not get pregnant until they are mated and only with their mate. However, Bryani never mated with Markus (Vane's parents), and yet she ended up pregnant with Vane, Fang, Anya, Star, Fury, and Dare. How is that supposed to work, it goes against everything that was previously stated.
Also in Night Play, it says that Were's aren't supposed to sleep together once the mark appears unless they plan to complete the mating (this is corroborate in Dark Side of the Moon). However, Vane and Bride continue in there relationship without the mating becoming official. There are so many things in the Were universe that don't make sense. I'm not sure if things are different in each Were species.
There are several things that are said in passing about different things it makes sense in some ways and in others it doesn't because it isn't mentioned at any other time. Such as mentioning in Dark Side of the Moon, about bonding and there having been several blue moons, however, we know that you don't have to wait for the blue moon to complete a bonding after the initial mating. They just have to join their marks and repeat the oath.
Further more, how can Dark-Hunters, who no longer have a soul, be mated to a Were? In Ravyn and Susan's case, he is still a Were but he doesn't have a soul anymore so how can he be mated? They also talk about how the fates only allow them one mate, does that mean that Susan is actually Isabeau reincarnated, and more understanding, or do the fates just feel like being jerks?
I love all the Kenyon books, there are just things about them that make me crazy sometimes and it drives my husband crazy to have to listen to me, because he has no idea what I am talking about. I welcome anyone else to share anything that they have noticed as well. I just needed some way to talk about this so that my husband doesn't kill me in my sleep, lol.
